چکیده

Background In patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), cardiac involvement is common. This cardiac involvement may have serious consequences and can contribute to worsening of patient’s outcome. Cardiac MRI is a sensitive, noninvasive diagnostic techniques that can identify subclinical myocardial abnormalities. We sought to detect LV regional dysfunction by using a CMR approach in RA patients without cardiac symptoms.

Detection of left ventricular regional dysfunction and myocardial abnormalities using complementary cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in patients with systemic sclerosis without cardiac symptoms

Methods Consecutive patients with SSc without cardiac symptoms and healthy controls underwent CMR. Peak systolic regional circumferential and radial strain (Ecc and Err, %) were calculated using a feature tracking analysis on mid-left ventricular slices obtained with cine MRI in six segments. Furthermore, perfusion defect (PD) under pharmacological stress and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) w...

Prevalence of left ventricular regional dysfunction differ in asymptomatic patients with systemic sclerosis compared to rheumatoid arthritis

Background and purpose In patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), cardiac involvements are common, may have serious consequences. Sensitive diagnostic techniques in cardiac MRI can identify subclinical myocardial abnormalities. The purpose of this study is to assess regional dysfunction of left ventricule in asymptomatic patients with SSc, compared to RA, by using ...

Right Ventricular Strain and Dyssynchrony Assessment in Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy: Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Feature-Tracking Study.

BACKGROUND Analysis of right ventricular (RV) regional dysfunction by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging in arrhythmogenic RV cardiomyopathy (ARVC) may be inadequate because of the complex contraction pattern of the RV. Aim of this study was to determine the use of RV strain and dyssynchrony assessment in ARVC using feature-tracking CMR analysis. METHODS AND RESULTS Thirty-two consecuti...

Impact of obesity and epicardial fat on early left atrial dysfunction assessed by cardiac MRI strain analysis

BACKGROUND Diastolic dysfunction is a major cause of morbidity in obese individuals. We aimed to assess the ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) derived left atrial (LA) strain to detect early diastolic dysfunction in individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes, and to explore the association between cardiac adipose tissue and LA function. METHODS Twenty patients with obesity and T2D ...

Lower left atrial strain in the presence of regional atrial fibrosis: an MRI study of patients with atrial fibrillation

Background LA strain, measured by feature-tracking using cine MRI, is an emerging tool for regional evaluation of the left atrium [1-4]. Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE MRI) is a method which indicates regions of possible atrial fibrosis. Their regional relationship is not known. Our goal was to compare global and regional left atrial (LA) strain in atrial fibrillation (AF) subjects and contro...
